Exploring the area
Staunton is an ideal location for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
Staunton itself is a historic village and is known for being surrounded by stones such as the Buckstone, the Suckstone and the Near Hearkening Rock. Staunton heritage walks pass by these stones - leaflets with walking routes are available in the pub.

Pretty old and interesting is a shop close to the pub offering a range of
interesting objects at incredible prices.
The offical website for the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley has lots of information
about what there is to do in the area.
There are two lakes at Broadstone Fishery stocked with rainbow and blue trout.
Lessons in fly fishing are also offered.

If you are looking to stay in the area, there are
bespoke shepherd huts in Staunton.

For dog treats, grooming and accessories, we recommend The Regal Rouge shop.
